A display cabinet is sold by what goes in it

These ranges split by product rather than by size, because the product sets the temperature, the humidity and the shape of the glass. Cake and patisserie cabinets hold enough humidity that icing does not crack. Deli serve-over is built for staff to reach in from behind while the customer sees the front. Gelato runs far colder than either. Hot food and pie is heated, not chilled. Buying on litres alone is how a cabinet ends up holding the wrong thing badly.

Countertop or floor-standing

Countertop cabinets sit on an existing bench and start at 361 mm wide — impulse-buy real estate at the till. Floor-standing cabinets run up to 3,850 mm and become the counter. Measure the run before you shortlist: width is the constraint that actually rules models out, and this range spans more than ten times over.

Open display and ambient

Open display fridges have no door at all — grab-and-go merchandising for convenience stores and food service, at the cost of running harder. Ambient cabinets are not refrigerated at all: they are for bakery and packaged product that should not be chilled.
