Choosing an ice dispenser

Why a dispenser rather than a bin. A scoop in an open bin is the hygiene problem every food-safety auditor looks for. A dispenser keeps hands out of the ice entirely — which is why they turn up in hospitals, aged care, self-serve drink stations, hotels and staff rooms rather than back-of-house.

Output and size. 26 kg/24h to 190 kg/24h across the range, 350 mm to 770 mm wide. The narrow units are counter-top or wall-mounted for a drink station; the wider ones are floor-standing for a serving area.

Dispenser or dispenser bin? Some units make their own ice; others are a dispensing bin fed by a separate modular ice head. If you already have a machine and only need to fix the scoop problem, the bin is the cheaper half — tell us what head you are running and we will match it.
