Reading the ICEMATIC series names

ICEMATIC names its series after fruit, which tells you nothing until someone explains it. Cherry (C) is bright cube. Maracuja (M) is modular cube. Coco (K) is hollow cube — faster to make and cheaper to run, softer in the glass. Berries (B) is flake. Grape (G) is nugget. Tropical (TD) is a cubelet dispenser. Use the ice-type filter on this page and ignore the fruit.

Hollow or solid cube

A hollow cube freezes from the outside in and comes out with a dimple, which means less water and less energy per cube — cheaper to run and quicker to recover. A solid cube is denser, melts more slowly and looks better in a clear glass. For a busy takeaway, hollow. For a cocktail bar, solid.
